• Matrix codes provide a high-density encoding alternative to bar codes

The ability to track and identify individual dies allows critical information to be stored and recalled during semiconductor manufacturing and packaging. Silicon "real-estate" is very costly so 2-D matrix coding has become a preferred alternative to alphanumeric characters or bar codes.

This application required integration of a matrix code reading vision system into an existing machine design for an OEM customer.
